P0dCr8 - Pricing model

Credits, subscriptions and what an episode costs

Monetization

P0dCr8 can function either as a personal tool or be marketed as a Software as a Service (SaaS), allowing you to monetize it. Instead of buying individual podcasts, users subscribe for a fixed period and pay a set cost, getting access to the AI-powered podcast studio P0dCr8

Pricing Model

Users access the power of P0dCr8 through a designated point system. These points are known as P0dcr8-power - yes, can be renamed. It enable users to generate text or speech for their podcasts. Although you can impose constraints on the number of shows, episodes, and their length, users can refresh the content within those parameters as long as their P0dCr8-power lasts

The P0dcr8-power each user receives depends on their user-role ( or user-group ), which you can set. The costs and amount of P0dCr8-power for each subscription plan are your decision, as is the cost of each activity (such as text-generation with GPT3.5 or GPT4, speech synthesis etc) that users can execute with their P0dCr8-power

In the SaaS model, each subscribed user receives a certain amount of P0dCr8-power according to their user-role. They use these points to generate text or speech content, with each action incurring a cost in P0dCr8-power, set by you this way you can control API services costs

Every user-role has the capability to assign users a P0dCr8-power allocation, categorized as either total or monthly. As the name suggests, the total amount is a one-time use allocation, while the monthly power is replenished 30 days after a user acquires a subscription plan or when you manually assign a user role

You have the flexibility to allocate a specific monthly or cumulative P0dcr8-power limit to the default user-role, providing complimentary P0dcr8-power to all users. Additionally, you can generate an unlimited number of user roles and allocate varying P0dcr8-power amounts. Users can be assigned these roles manually, or you can establish subscription plans for users to acquire user-roles through purchase. Notably, in "weekly" subscription plans, users receive the entire monthly allotment, and it's crucial not to set a price for the weekly duration

Users' total P0dCr8-power decreases as they carry out various actions such as text creation or speech synthesis. It essentially balances what users pay and what they get in return. For example, if you set the P0dCr8-power cost to $10 for OpenAI and $10 for ElevenLabs, generating a one-hour podcast would deduct 20 points from the user's total P0dCr8-power

Configuration

To define the API pricing structure, navigate to `Your RKHM -> Admin -> Content -> P0dCr8 -> Setting`. You can set different costs for using different text-generation systems, such as GPT-3.5 or GPT-4. We don't recommend tweaking with prices in this page. Just calculate how much you are paying each API based on their pricing list & your purchased plan and enter that value. To gain revenue, you can create a subscription plan that gives users 20 P0dcr8-power ( which is equal to 20$ that you pay-out to API services, if you don't tweak the prices and set the correctly ) but sell that subscription plan for 50$ to get 30$ revenue!

User-roles can be set up by navigating to `Your RKHM -> Admin -> Users -> Roles & Access`. Here, you can create new roles and assign a specific P0dCr8-power amount to each. Then go to `Your RKHM -> Admin -> Business -> Subscription plans`, create a plan, link it to a user role, and set the price

In case you wish to use P0dCr8 for personal use, you can set the P0dCr8-power & limits to an arbitrary large number at `your RKHM -> Admin -> Users -> Roles & Access -> Default user-role`. You can also create user-roles, assign P0dcr8-power to them but instead of selling them through a subscription plan, manually add them for your friends

Example

To illustrate the pricing, we are using GPT-4 + PlayHT at 08cast.com. Our API cost structure involves paying OpenAI $0.56 to produce enough text for a one-hour podcast. With the purchase of  PlayHT's Growth plan, we are paying PlayHT %5.85 for 1 hour of text to speech. Thus, to generate a one-hour podcast, we pay APIs $0.56 + $5.85 = $6.41 and it costs our users exactly 6.41 in P0dCr8-power. We then gave 1.5 P0dcr8 power ( which is equal to $1.5 in terms of API access ) as total to default user-role. We then designed two new user-roles,  "Noob" and "Creator" and assigned them P0dCr8-power sufficient to make half an hour and ~25 hours of podcast respectively. We priced these subscription plans at $21/month ('Noob') and $399/month ('Creator'), generating steady revenues for us while providing sufficient resources for users
