Before you install

What it takes to go live

RKHM installs on ordinary PHP hosting. The installer walks through setup and does most of the work for you.

    Get hosting

    PHP and a MySQL or MariaDB database — what nearly every shared host already offers. Shared hosting is enough to start; a VPS earns its keep once the catalogue grows.

  2. 2

    Run the installer

    Upload, open your domain, and follow the steps. FFmpeg is bundled, so there is nothing to compile or ask your host to enable.

  3. 3

    Add one cron job

    A single scheduled task drives the automation and background processing. Your host's control panel has this; the docs show exactly what to paste.

How the licence works — worth knowing before you buy

One licence covers one domain, and you can reinstall on that domain as often as you like. Moving to a different domain uses your one free licence reset, and that limit is not raised afterwards — so it pays to settle on your hosting and domain before you install.

Every licence includes support, the documentation covers each installation step, and paid installation is available if you would rather hand it over.

Questions people ask before buying

Do I need to know how to code?
No. The catalogue, storefront and every page are managed from the admin panel, and pages are designed with PageBuilder by dragging in widgets — nothing here requires writing code. If you'd rather not install it yourself, paid installation is available.
Can users buy a single track or album directly, or only subscribe?
Both, and you choose per item. Sell one-off purchases, run subscription plans, or run both at once — the same is true across podcasts, audiobooks and beats.
Which payment gateways are supported?
17 in total — Stripe, PayPal, Paystack, Flutterwave, Pesapal, Chapa, CinetPay, FedaPay, KKiaPay, Razorpay, Cashfree, YooMoney, MPC, Coinbase, PayGate and EVM wallets, plus manual/offline transfer. All of them ship with the base licence.
Shared hosting or a VPS?
Shared hosting is enough to get started and is what most owners begin on. As your catalogue and traffic grow, a VPS gives more headroom — nothing about moving up requires a different version of the platform.
Can artists or podcasters earn royalties?
Yes. Users can apply for creator verification, sell their own content, and receive payouts based on sales or stream count, which you review and process from the admin panel.
How many domains does one licence cover?
One. You can reinstall on that same domain as many times as you like. Moving to a different domain uses your one free licence reset — that limit is not increased afterwards, so it's worth finalising your hosting before you install.
What about the mobile app — is it a real native app?
The mobile app add-on is a hybrid app built from your live site, submitted to the App Store and Google Play under your own developer account — it is not written separately per platform, and it updates when your site does. Store review is Apple's and Google's process, not ours; the docs cover the icons, permission strings and content declarations reviewers ask for. Every platform also installs straight from the browser to a phone's home screen at no extra cost, with offline access and push notifications, before you ever need the add-on.
