Audiowaveform
Generating the waveform the player shows during playback
RKHM features automatic, high-performance visual waveform generation for your items. To achieve this, the platform utilizes audiowaveform, a lightning-fast C++ command-line tool.
Once configured, the entire process is fully automated—the script handles the generation, extraction, and rendering behind the scenes without any extra manual work.
Step-by-Step Setup
- Install Audiowaveform on Your Server: Before configuring the admin panel, ensure that audiowaveform is installed on your VPS or VDS.
- Locate the Binary Path: Find the absolute path to the executable on your server
- Configure RKHM: Navigate to Admin Panel -> Settings -> External Tools.
- Enter the Path: Input your server's absolute path into the Audiowaveform Path field.
- Confirm the installation/access by clicking on `test` button
After enabling awf, music-tracks and beats that are hosted locally ( on same server ) will display a waveform. Click here for demo
How to display Waveform after enabling it?
Waveform will automatically load when users visit `tracks` or `beats` that have a local mp3 file
You can also visit PageBuilder, add a new widget for `music track` or `beat` and in `layout` tab enable `waveforms`. Then if items have waveform, the waveform is displayed. Otherwise a playing bar is displayed
Also, if all of your items do have a waveform and you want to display "top tracks" of "music artists" as "waveform sliders" instead of "table", you should edit your config_user.php and define a new constant. More info here
